Waterford Grand – Eugene, OR
BPM is a senior living company based in Portland, OR, and one of the pioneers of the industry. A family-owned company, BPM focuses on building and acquiring quality senior living communities and providing unique programs such as Personal Preferences that engage the residents and are tailored to offering meaningful experiences for them. The company prides itself on following the 7 Dimensions of Wellness: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Spiritual, Social, Occupational, and Environmental.
The Waterford Grand is perhaps the most impressive, most luxurious senior living community we have had the opportunity to film nationwide. With an impressive fountain that shoots water 30 feet into the air, an indoor pool with a projection screen, a full salon and spa, valet parking, a lighted fire pit, theater, and incredible restaurant, all situated on the banks of the Willamette River, Waterford Grand truly lives up to its name. As a result, though, our video production needed to be top notch and showcase the community in all of its grandeur. A simple, by-the-numbers video was not going to impress viewers or satisfy the client. We also faced a challenge because of the few residents actually living at Waterford Grand at the time.
We put together a small crew and brought a variety of cinematic equipment to the Waterford Grand shoot, including the RED Scarlet-X 4K cinema camera and a jib (small crane) for capturing the grandeur of the community. We also shot aerial video with a drone to showcase the whole of the community and its proximity to the waterfront. Using a full production day, we carefully captured each of the impressive elements of the community and gathered the footage we needed for editing. During the editing process, we structured the video around the 7 Dimensions of Wellness, focusing on the staff during the interviews and even bringing in a few actors for the B-roll to fill the shots.
